Tai Sui – The location of the bad Qi of the year -

The Tai Sui determines the misfortunate location for the year.  The Feng Shui classics and experience tells us, if you offend the Tai Sui by disturbing the earth or engaging in renovations or construction, then you will suffer from sickness, injury and/or financial losses.

Metaphysics includes the study of qi(chi) -Intangible energies detectible only with a living being.  These energies are spirits with individual personalities. They get along well when they are flowing in a harmonious cycle; however, If the flow is out of balance then qi personalities will clash.

One particular qi type is known as the Tai Sui, the General.  It is an elusive star that circles the planet Jupiter. The rotation takes place annually at the beginning of the solar New Year. This energy is actually one from the 12 existing qi types, each with its own named direction and which repeats itself in a 12 year cycle.

In Feng Shui among Chinese Astrology, there are twelve animals that correspond to each year, they are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.  They are given these names because the energy’s personalities are considered most similar to these types of animals.  This technique allows more people to understand the properties of the qi type.

This year is the year of the Metal rabbit.  There is also a water rabbit, a wood rabbit, a fire rabbit, and an earth rabbit.  Each animal comes in the five elements, but the direction of the animal is always the same. The rabbit is in the east ranging from 82.5 – 92.5  degrees.

The animal opposite the Tai Sui in this case is the rooster, who clashes with rabbit (the current tai sui) & this is bad.  This energy source is opposing & attacking the Tai Sui, and the Tai Sui attacks back.  Therefore, it is advisable for any persons born the year of the rooster to be very diligent this year regarding their health.

As stated before, disturbing the earth on the east side of your house with renovation or construction may result in physical or financial devastation; however, if you avoid disturbing the earth, then this is not a problem.  Avoid any work in the east of the property this year until after the beginning of the new solar new-year, during the beginning days of February 2012. Those with gardens on the east of their homes should not be worried about minor lawn maintenance like mowing, rocking or snow shoveling. It is highly recommended that you avoid large digging projects such as swimming pools or major landscaping to the east side of your property.
